Gérald Roland Vigier, nous a quitté paisiblement au Centre de santé Notre-Dame le 23 février 2025, à l'âge de 97 ans.

Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse de 70 ans Huguette (née Labossière) et ses enfants, Johanne Ketsman, Marc (Louise) Vigier, Joelle Wytinck, Rhéal Vigier (Sandy), Michel (Jackie) Vigier, Donald (Rose) Vigier et Darcelle Vigier (Dave); ses petits-enfants, Darcy (Sarah), Mike (Lindsay), Patrick (Jennifer), Alex (Brittany), Brian (Sheena), Janique, Natalie (Ryan), Ian (Maggie), Stéphan (Kaitlyn), Danielle (Jeff), Christian, Miguel, Justin (Halle), Katie, Marc (Lexi), Nico, Joel, Dominique et Jonas ; ses arrière-petits-enfants, Manon (Justin), Miller, Hank, Annika, Grace, Cooper, Emma, Lucas, Dreyden, Harlee, Dallas, Walker, Caitlyn, Anthony, Easton, Brooks, Hartley, Paxton, Elliette, Myla, Ella, Rae-Leigh, Cale, Kasey et Zoe.   Il laisse également dans le deuil ses belles-sœurs, Olive Labossiere, Fleurette Labossiere, Eva Labossiere, Yvonne Labossiere, Pierrette (Willis) Kleebaum, Annette Labossiere, Suzanne Brétécher et Yolande Labossiere ; ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, parents et amis.

Gérald a été précédé par ses fils Denys et Claude, son petit-fils Mathieu, ses beaux-fils Henry Ketsman et Jamie Wytinck; ses parent Gustave et Yvonne Vigier et ses frères et sœurs.

Les funérailles seront célébrées à l'église de la paroisse de Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, samedi le 1er mars 2025. Eulogie et hommage vidéo à 10h30 suivis de la messe des funérailles à 11h00. Les funérailles seront diffusées en direct www.afh.ca

Au lieu de fleurs, des dons commémoratifs peuvent être faits à Centre de santé Notre-Dame ou Projet de rajeunissement des terrain de balle CKS.

Gerald Vigier, passed away at the Notre-Dame Health Centre on February 23, 2025  at the age of 97 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Huguette (née Labossiere); his children, Johanne Ketsman, Marc (Louise) Vigier, Joelle Wytinck, Rhéal Vigier (Sandy), Michel (Jackie) Vigier, Donald (Rose) Vigier and Darcelle Vigier (Dave); his grandchildren, Darcy (Sarah), Mike (Lindsay), Patrick (Jennifer), Alex (Brittany), Brian (Sheena), Janique, Natalie (Ryan), Ian (Maggie), Stéphane (Kaitlyn), Danielle (Jeff), Christian, Miguel, Justin (Halle), Katie, Marc (Lexi), Nico, Joel,  Dominique and  Jonas; his great-grandchildren, Manon (Justin), Miller, Hank, Annika, Grace, Cooper, Emma, Lucas, Dreyden, Harlee, Dallas, Walker, Caitlyn, Anthony, Easton, Brooks, Hartley, Paxton, Elliette, Myla, Ella, Rae-Leigh, Cale, Kasey and Zoé. He also leaves to mourn his sisters-in-law, Olive Labossiere, Fleurette Labossiere, Eva Labossiere, Yvonne Labossiere, Pierrette (Willis) Kleebaum, Annette Labossiere, Suzanne Brétécher and Yolande Labossiere; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his sons Denys and Claude, grandson Mathieu, his sons-in-law Henry Ketsman and Jamie Wytinck; his parents Gustave and Yvonne Vigier and his siblings.

Gerry was born to Gustave and Yvonne on June 10, 1927 in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Manitoba. At a young age he discovered his love of baseball, and this followed him throughout his life. In 1954, he married the love of his life Huguette and together they raised nine children on their family farm. This past May they celebrated 70 years of marriage. In 2004, he celebrated two milestones, being inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame, as well celebrating 50 years as a Select Seed Grower. In his retirement he enjoyed travelling, spending many winters in Phoenix. He loved to play, watch and advise his children and grandchildren on how to be a good athlete and teammate. Making that Vigier name proud. Many hours were spent being a farm supervisor, Marc can attest! He loved his farm. He loved his wife, children, grandkids and not to forget his golf cart!

Funeral Services will be celebrated in the Notre-Dame Catholic Church on Saturday March 1, 2025. Memorial Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 11 a.m. The service will be Live Streamed at www.afh.ca

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Notre-Dame Health Centre or the CKS Notre-Dame Ball Diamond Rejuvenation Project.
