Ghislain Levesque
Peacefully at the Carman Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 25, 2015, our loving brother Ghislain passed away after a short illness at the age of 80 years.
Ghislain was born in Montmartre, Saskatchewan on August 4, 1934, the 4th eldest of George and Georgette (Gentes) Levesque.
Ghislain was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Gilles and Aurel, George and sister Doreen and sister-in-law Pierrette and brother-in-law Gilbert Pattyn.
Leaving to mourn his memory are his sister Mimi and brothers, Dollard (Yvonne), Guy (Ida) and sister-in-laws Joan and Jeannine, brother-in-law Bob Tougas and many nephews and nieces. Also left to mourn Ghislain is his best friend and care-giver, Denis Dufault.
Ghislain was born with limited mental capabilities but this did not seem to affect his life and he was always eager to meet people and was extremely friendly to everyone. His favourite expression was always “I know this person, you know”. He always had a big smile whenever he met someone and that smile stayed with him through good and hard times.
Ghislain spent more than 40 years in the Haywood area and made many friends as he was well received and loved by the community. A big thank you to Denis Dufault, that has always taken such good care of Ghislain. Denis was more like a brother than caregiver. The Levesque family could not have given better care than Denis offered and delivered for Ghislain.
Funeral Services will be held in the St. Denis Roman Catholic Church in Haywood, Manitoba on Saturday, January 31, 2015. Recitation of the Rosary at 2:30 followed by Funeral Mass at 3 p.m. with Father Armand Le Gal officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Ste. Anne .
