Gordon Saunders

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gordon Saunders. Gordon passed peacefully in his sleep on December 7th, with family by his side. Gordon was pre-deceased by his parents, James and Clara, and his son Michael (Cindy). Gordon leaves behind one son, Gord Saunders, his twin brother Jim Saunders, two sisters, Eleanor McDonald and Janet Gray (Gary), nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

If we could use one word to describe Gordon, it would be jolly (he even filled in for Santa once at the Portage la Prairie Mall!). Grandpa always had a joke ready to go, and a smile on his face. He was quite fond of playing small pranks on his young grandchildren. He was also an extremely selfless man. He helped others without any fuss, without being asked. He always offered what he had to anyone who needed it.

Gordon asked that there be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to The Manitoba Lung Association. As well, if you can, please take some time to go fishing in his honour. Fishing was one of his greatest joys. He loved taking people out fishing, and he would be so pleased to know that he was able to get people to go out and enjoy the water.
