Helen Tranq

Peacefully at the Portage District Hospital, Mrs. Helen Tranq (née Zahaiko) passed away on February 21, 2016 at the age of 84 years.

She leaves to mourn her husband of 66 years Daniel, and seven children: Liliane (Gilbert) Bernard, Margaret de Rocquigny, Alice Price, Albert (Cheryl) Tranq, Dianne (Alan) Henderson, Lucille (Clifford) Sinclair and Rita (Trevor) Barker; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren: Mona Hammond (Derwyn), Lily; David Bernard (Shauna), Paige, Tess; Brian Bernard (Tracy), Nikki (Tim), Rod, Scott; Jennifer Stein (Dean), Jordan, Brooklyn, Brayden, Nevéah; Rachelle de Rocquigny, Lindsay, Julianna; Daniel de Rocquigny (Christie), Kara-Lea, Abbey; Craig Price; Gracyn Tranq; Chad Henderson (Carissa); Jason Henderson (Allie); Travis Henderson (Kristi), Maddison; Kristina Sinclair (Elom), Makayla; Amanda Lacroix (Greg); Breanna and Tyler Barker. She also leaves to mourn her siblings: Carrie Lashuk and Bill Zahaiko, along with her sister in law Pearl Zahaiko.

Helen was predeceased by her parents Fred and Dolly Zahaiko, son-in-law Jean de Rocquigny, brothers Peter (Ada) and Michael, sisters Kaye, Lucy (Alex Kernot) and Mary (Peter Koverski); 　in laws Peter Lashuk and Betty Zahaiko, Germaine and Eugene Tranq, Emile Tranq and Robert Tranq.

Prayers will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Friday, February 26, 2016. Eulogy and video tribute at 1:30 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. with Msgr Roger Bazin officiating. Interment will take place after Mass at the St. Claude Parish Cemetery.
