Henri Bernard

It is with great regret that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, Henri.  He was taken from us only too quickly on December 16, 2009.

He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Annette (Landreville), his two children Roger (Angie) and Lynn (Michael), and his grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Corrine, Regan and Natasha.

He will be lovingly remembered by his parents Georges and Marie Bernard, his brothers and sisters:   Francine (Jos) Rouire, Michel (Evelyne) Bernard, Gilbert (Penny) Bernard, Colette (Adrien) Côté, Huguette (Al) McKay, Claude (Brenda) Bernard, Edith (Reynold) Hague, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Muriel (Normand) Deleurme, Jeanne (Jim) Slota, Gilbert (Jeannine) Landreville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a special grandson (Jarret), his mother-in-law Yvonne Landreville, his father-in-law Maurice Landreville, and his brother-in-law, Roger Landreville.

Henri was born on August 25, 1950 in St. Boniface.  He was raised on the farm in Haywood where he attended Dandurand School.  After school, he worked on the farm until 1970.  He then went to work in Winnipeg where he met the love of his life, Annette.  They were married on April 22, 1972.  He went back to the country and bought the paternal farm in 1973 where he and Annette raised their family.

Henri enjoyed spending time with his family.  His grandchildren were a big part of his life.  When they would come into the yard, his eyes would just light up.  He would drop everything he was doing to play with them or let them jump on the quad, the tractor or whatever machine he was on and away they would go.  Machines were also one his passions.  He loved his John Deeres!  We are sure that if you find one up there Henri, you will definitely take it for a spin !  Henri also enjoyed camping not only with his family, but also with his friends.  He would never pass up a chance to play some kind of prank on somebody.  LOOK OUT EVERYBODY!  Henri and his close friend Angèle will be up to no good!

Dad, we know you fought hard to try and stay with us, but you just didn’t have the strength anymore.  Even though it is so difficult to accept that you are gone, we understand.  May you now rest in peace.  Know that we will all be okay, but we will miss you tremendously.  You will be our guardian angel.  It comforts us to know that you will be looking over us and taking care of us.  We love you very dearly.

Repose en paix notre cher Henri.  Tu nous manqueras énormément…nous t’aimons beaucoup.  Tu resteras toujours dans nos cœurs.

Prayers will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home in Notre Dame on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.  Memorial Services will be celebrated on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at St. Denis Roman Catholic Church in Haywood at 1:30 p.m. followed by a funeral mass at 2:00 p.m.
