Hubert Desrochers

Peacefully at the Baldur Personal Care Home on Friday, December 8, 2023, Hubert Desrochers of Mariapolis, MB passed away at the age of 73 years.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Anita (née Grenier); two children, Nicole Desrochers (Ryan Dowsett) and Robert Desrochers (Shawnacey Cardy); three grandchildren, Darrian (Kindal), Jimin and Charlie. He also leaves to mourn his father Georges Desrochers; and two sisters, Lucie (Harry) Page and Lucille (Glen) Petrie; his in-laws, Alexandre (Irène) Grenier, Gérald Grenier, Ronald Grenier, Émile Grenier, Jacqueline Grenier, Guy (Lise) Grenier, Nicole (Mark) Lebeau; and by two sisters-in-law, Agnes Messner and Toni Plouffe.

He was predeceased by his mother Julie (née Ricard); his brother Raymond Desrochers; his parents-in-law Lucien Grenier and Novia (née Moreau); and by his in-laws, Marcel Grenier, Norma Grenier, Denis Grenier, Jeanne Grenier and Monique Demare.

Hubert was born July 7, 1950 near Mariapolis, Manitoba. Hubert grew up in the city, but he always dreamed of being a farmer.  In 1977, Hubert and Anita Grenier were married, and together have farmed all their lives.  They have grown grain, raised cattle, pigs and goats. Hubert’s passion was farming and picking stones. He loved picking berries, spending time outside and sitting around the bonfire at night, visiting and telling stories.  He enjoyed sitting in front of the TV, cheering on the Montreal Canadiens.

With respect for Hubert’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral service at this time.

Memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice.
