Jeanne Jobin (née Pachet)

Peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at the St. Claude Health Centre, Mrs. Jeanne Jobin of St. Claude, Manitoba passed away at the age of 98.

Remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter Cécile Deurbrouck (Robert), her sons Arthur, Henri (Gisèle), Georges (Gisèle), Maurice (Susan), Ernest (Sharon), her daughter-in-law Lucette, as well as her 10 much loved grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren  Joanne and Darryl (Simone, Melissa, Demi, Ashley, Kelli); Rick and Jocelyn (Rene and Joelle); Dianne and Gino (Carmelo  and Czarena); Louanne and Mike (Evan and Nolan); Raymond and Cheryl (Eric, Christian and Vincent); Suzanne and Ryan (Elizabeth), Jacqueline and Nadine, Ronald, Janelle, Nicolas.  She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters Eugenie Dondo, Marie Binne, sister-in-law Odette Pachet, brother-in-law Omer Levasseur and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Eugenie Pachet, her husband of 60 years Albert in 1993, two infant daughters Marie and Thérèse,  her sons Albert in 1996, Lucien in 2001 and Armand in 2002, sisters Georgette Magne, Madeleine Levasseur, brothers Denis in childhood, Georges, Charles and his spouse  Ila, brothers-in-law Joachim Dondo, Joseph Magne, Georges Binne; in-laws Edouard and Marie Jobin, Emma and Romeo Aubin, Cécile and Hervé Lacroix, Marie and Tom Clandinin, Emile and Marie Jobin, Edouard and Dianna Jobin, and Arthur Jobin.

Jeanne was born May 6, 1910 in Ports sur Vienne, France. At six months of age, she immigrated to Canada with her parents.  They settled in Haywood and later in St. Claude, Manitoba where Jeanne spent her childhood, married Albert and raised their family. Their home was open to all, where family, friends and neighbors felt at ease and were free to drop in at anytime.

Jeanne loved her family and taught by example. Through her calmness, inner strength and endurance, Jeanne brought peace and harmony during times of adversity, and modeled a quiet appreciation of the joys of life.  She nurtured us with her gentleness, kindness and quiet, reassuring smile.  This is the legacy she leaves to her family and to all who knew her.

“We love you, Mom, and we still think we were the perfect bunch (8 boys, 1 girl) to help you practice your patience.”

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Claude Health Centre for their dedicated care.  Special thanks to Marie Binne for her numerous, cheerful visits, and to Henri and Gisèle for welcoming Mom into their home and taking such good care of her.  Thanks also to Janelle and Nicolas who Grandma always said: “Ils sont très gentils”.

Prayers will be held at the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Monday, May 26 at 7:30 p.m.  Funeral Mass will take place at the same location on Tuesday, May 27 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Célestin Malengu Mubaya officiating.  Interment will follow in the Parish cemetery.

Paisiblement, le jeudi 22 mai 2008, Madame Jeanne Jobin est décédée à l’âge de  98 ans au Centre de santé de Saint-Claude, Manitoba.

Elle laisse dans le deuil sa fille Cécile Deurbrouck (Robert), ses garçons Arthur, Henri (Gisèle), Georges (Gisèle), Maurice (Susan), Ernest (Sharon), sa belle-fille Lucette,  ainsi que 10 petits-enfants bien-aimés et 15 arrière-petits-enfants,  Joanne et Darryl (Simone, Melissa, Demi, Ashley, Kelli) ; Rick et Jocelyn (Rene et Joelle) ; Dianne et Gino (Carmelo et Czarena) ; Louanne et Mike (Evan et Nolan) ; Raymond et Cheryl (Eric, Christian et Vincent) ; Suzanne et Ryan (Elizabeth) ; Jacqueline et Nadine ; Ronald, Janelle, Nicolas.  Elle laisse également ses sœurs Eugénie Dondo, Marie Binne, sa belle-sœur Odette Pachet, son beau-frère Omer Levasseur ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces.

Elle rejoint dans l’au-delà ses parents Arthur et Eugénie Pachet, son mari de 60 ans Albert (1993), deux filles Marie et Thérèse à la naissance, ses garçons Albert (1996), Lucien (2001) et Armand (2002), sa sœur Georgette, ses frères Denis en enfance, Georges, Charles et son épouse Ila, ses beaux-frères Joachim Dondo, Joseph Magne et Georges Binne ; ses beaux-parents  Edouard et Marie Jobin, Emma et Romeo Aubin, Cécile et Hervé Lacroix, Marie et Tom Clandinin, Emile et Marie Jobin, Edouard et Dianna Jobin, et Arthur.Jobin.

Jeanne naquit le 6 mai 1910 à Ports sur Vienne en France. A l’âge de six mois elle immigra au Canada avec ses parents. Ils s’installèrent à Haywood et plus tard à Saint-Claude, Manitoba, où elle passa son enfance, épousa Albert et se dévoua à élever leurs  enfants.  La famille, les amis, les voisins, tous étaient toujours les bienvenus chez Jobin et tous s’y sentaient à l’aise d’y  venir, souvent sans s’annoncer.

Femme de tolérance, Jeanne acceptait les épreuves de la vie tout en appréciant pleinement les bons moments.  Douée d’une force intérieure unique et d’une patience sans borne elle apportait la paix et l’harmonie aux moments difficiles et fournissait aux  siens la stabilité et le calme en tout temps.

« Mom, tu nous as toujours aimé, même quand on était sage ! »

La famille remercie le personnel du Centre de santé de Saint-Claude pour les bons soins accordés à Maman.   Un merci tout spécial à Marie Binne pour ses nombreuses visites animées et aussi à Henri et Gisèle pour l’avoir si bien accueillie dans leur foyer.  Merci également à Janelle et Nicolas de qui Grand-mère disait toujours « Ils sont très gentils. »

Les prières ont eu lieu à l’église catholique de Saint-Claude, le lundi 26 mai à 19 h 30 ainsi que la messe funéraire présidée par l’abbé Célestin Malengu Mubaya, le mardi 27 mai à 2 h, suivie de l’inhumation au cimetière local.

La direction des funérailles a été confiée au Salon mortuaire Adam de Notre-Dame de Lourdes, 248-2201 ou 1-888-400-2326.
