It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 55 years.
John will be lovingly remember by his partner Sandra Scott, children Darrell, Crystal (Shaun) and Tamara; grandchildren: Nakeda, Austin, Nathan, Trey, Journey, Kiaria and one great grandchild Mikayla. He also leaves to mourn his mother Shirley, brother Hans (Karen), sisters, Anne (Brian) and Jean, special nephew Jamie as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and family from Amsterdam. He was predeceased by his father George Koopmans.
John was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, where he graduated from SAIT as a journeyman electrician which he continued for 35 years. In 2008, John and Sandra moved to Crystal City, MB. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, camping, fishing and lots of barbequing. He always made the holidays special for everyone and loved cooking for family and friends. John was also a skilled pool player and loved the outdoors and spent many times in the mountains with his wife.
He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him as a kind hearted, good man.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Indian Springs Cemetery.
