Joseph Thomas Martin
December 29, 1977 – May 27, 2011
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Husband, Son, Brother, Father, Uncle, Nephew, Grandson and cousin, Joseph Thomas Martin on May 27, 2011 at the tender age of 33 years old.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Naomi Martin (McKinney), his children Emily, Robin, Debra, Julian, his step children Trevor, Larissa, Destiny, Candace, Cassandra, Shastri, Cashis, his parents Barbara Hobson, Doug Martin and step mother, Arlene Martin. Father in law and mother in law Gloria & Jim Walker; Brothers Douglas Hobson (Shauna), Jorden Martin; Sisters Kellie Hobson (Cory) Leslie Hobson-Wilson (Travis), Shawna Martin, Mandy Martin, Jodie Martin, Jasmine Martin; two nieces and five nephews, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Grandparents Joe and Emma Martin. He was predeceased by his grandmother Mary Ann Hobson, uncles Melvin Martin and Robert Martin, cousins Angel and Sonya Hobson, good friend Ronald McKinney Sr.
Joe was born in Winnipeg, Mb but spent most of his life in Swan Lake. He loved his music, movies and was a wrestling fanatic. He was a practical joker and loved to tease everyone and give everyone nicknames. He was big and strong but a gentle giant at heart. He enriched the lives of his family and friends with his funny humour and kind spirit.
A Traditional Wake will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Hall on Monday, May 30, 2011 at 4 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Hall on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at Indian Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Tony McKinney, Marlon Gray, Melvin Martin Jr, Terry Martin, Ronald Martin and Jason Ranville.
