With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jovan Milinkovic, at Lorne Memorial Hospital, on October 3rd, 2018, at the age of 78 years.

Jovan was  born Jan 10th, 1940, in Stirkovac,  Yugloslavia.   He immigrated to Canada in 1978,  working in various locations before settling in Winnipeg. While  there,  he met Janet Payne,  and they eventually moved to Swan Lake, where they married in 2000.  During the years in Swan Lake, Joe made many friends.

He leaves to mourn his passing many dear friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his wife, Janet,  in 2016.

During his retirement years, Joe enjoyed carpentry to pass his time.  He helped many people with renovating and odd jobs.  His love for the outdoors included hunting and fishing.   Not being one to sit inside, Joe would be out on the road in the early morning hours.

Joe's life was his animals.  "My Children" he would call them.  Any or all animals were precious to him.  His pets always came first.  Eating top of the line steak was nothing out of the ordinary for them.  Joe will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

According to Joe's wishes, cremation has taken place.  There will be a friend’s gathering to honour Jovan’s memory on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the residence of Donald and Charlene Chevalier. One mile north of the Swan Lake School and one mile west.

If friends so desire, donations may be made in Joe's memory to The Humane Society.
