Joyce McKinney (nee Scott)

Peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 Joyce McKinney of Swan Lake First Nation passed away at Boundary Trails Health Centre at the age of 72 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Don (Lisa), Ryan and Sean (Rachel), daughters, Angie (Brian), Heather, Joanne (Norm) and Nancy; her sisters Marina, Hazel, Sandra, Elaine, Jana (Eddy Boy) and Cheyenne; her brothers Wayne (Memory) and Dave Scott and her grandchildren, Daphne (Pete), Dallas (Malleri), Shane, Bradley (Rayne), Ronald Jr. (Shanna), Terry, Jeanine, Alison (Charlie), Cody (Taylor), Nicholas, Kristina, Breanne, Anthony (Kelly Anne), Justin (Alexis), Tyrell, Jasmine (Lefty), Braiden, Alex and Hunter and numerous great-grandchildren.  She also leaves to mourn her in-laws, Danny, Donna and Tom as well as her adopted sons, Farrell Cameron, Delmar Peters and many relatives and friends.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband Roy McKinney, her children, Ron McKinney, Darrell Tukundum and Angel Hobson; grandchildren, Donald Jr., Carrie and Michael, her parents Simon and Rosie Scott as well as her siblings Raymond, Bob, Ron and Lillian.

Traditional Wake will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Community Hall on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 4:00pm

Traditional Funeral Service will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Community Hall on Sunday, February 13, 2022 with the feast commencing at noon.

Pallbearers will be Travis Bird, Cory Scott, Kyle Scott, Mike McKinney, Terry Martin and Rob Daniels.

Special thanks to Alice McKinney, Shelly Webster, Kristen Jonk, SLFN Health Centre, nurses at dialysis units at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Seven Oaks Hospital, and Dr. Coudiere.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dwayne McKinney, Kelly Scott, Eddy Boy Myran, Steven Scott, Brian Walker, Doreen Cameron, Doreen Tukundum, Jon & Debbie Delaronde, Alice McKinney, SLFN Elders, all her relatives and friends.
