Judy Galbraith
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear sister Judy Galbraith on May 27, 2021 at the age of 54 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Janice (Andy) Chevrier, Rosemarie (Daniel) Jackson, Loree-Ann (David) Brennenstuhl; her nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Chelsea (Jay), Jayde, Brayden, Nolan (Deanna), Dustin, Lisa and Amy; her great nephews and niece, Lucas, Poppy and Miles. She also leaves to mourn her aunts and uncles, Jeanne Dedieu, Peggy (Charles) Philippot, Pete Rey, Rose Sawchuk and Georges (Iris) Rey, as well as numerous cousins, relatives and friends.
Judy is predeceased by her parents Robert and Bernadette Galbraith and her nephew Tyler Jackson as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Judy (Pooder) grew up in Haywood and settled in at the St. Claude Residence in her adult years. She attended the St. Claude School, worked at Mountain Industries in Notre Dame de Lourdes and retired when she wanted to. In Haywood, Judy’s many interests were riding her bike, swimming, wrestling and being with her best friend (her words) Michelle Souque and playing with cousin Danny Dedieu. She spent time doing her writing which she called homework and watching TV -Starsky & Hutch for one. Judy was a Special Olympian – Cross Country Sking, Track & Field and Bowling were her events to win. Her favourite Hockey player was Mike Bossy – yes she watched many Hockey Nights in Canada and the Blue Jays to get her baseball in. If Judy ever called you a Weasel you were on her good list – you wanted to be called a Weasel. Once Judy began her independent adult life in St. Claude, she had the pleasure of having Jeannine Tremorin as her lifelong friend and partner in crime. Coming back to “Hayville” on weekends meant some spoil time from her Mother Bern who always made sure Judy was taken care of at all times. Family gatherings saw Judy hanging out with her Brother-in-Laws - they are cool. Her nieces and nephews were TOO LOUD and she let them know this but at the Dinner Table it was all smiles and love for them all. Judy you were a daughter, sister, niece, auntie, cousin and friend to many. Everyone who met you was lucky because they got to meet the greatest and most beautiful girl from Haywood/St. Claude.
