Julienne Leduc
(née Fouasse)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Julienne Leduc at the St. Claude Pavilion on Friday, March 12, 2021 at the age of 95 years.
Julienne will be lovingly remembered by her children, Maurice, Denis (Mona), Evelyn (André) Chappellaz, Lionel (Lorilynn), Roger (Rachelle), Gilles and Norman; her grandchildren, Kristiane (James), Natalie (Alan), Danielle (Gabrielle), Sarah, Brigitte, Guy, Raymond, Nicole, Eric and Julien (Kailey) and her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Reighen, Kolby and Parker. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Julien, her son Guy, her daughter-in-law Lorraine, her granddaughter Chantal and her sisters Claire (Julien) Philippot and Marie (Louis) Chaperon.
Julienne was born on July 9, 1925 to parents Jean and Léontine Fouasse, in Notre-Dame de Lourdes Manitoba, and grew up on a farm in the community alongside her two sisters. In 1954, she married Julien Leduc and the couple started their family farm in St. Claude, Manitoba. Julienne was a strong caring woman who loved life on the farm. Always busy on the farm, tending her gardens, preserving fruits/veggies for winter, keeping an immaculately clean home and especially keeping her eight children and husband extremely well fed. Julienne was known in the community and especially by her family for her exceptional cooking skills. Her family always tried to replicate her recipes and tried to watch to learn but could never replicate them as everything was measured by estimation. Later in life, when it came time to leave the farm they moved into town and Julienne kept busy volunteering with local events and with church functions. She was at her happiest when she had the people she loved surrounding her. She enjoyed Sunday drives with her husband and watching curling and baseball. She was always available to her grandchildren who would often drop in to see if Gramma had made cinnamon buns or chocolate chip cookies. There was always ‘un ptit sweet’ after any meal. Julienne was truly and exceptional Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother and will be missed dearly.
Her family are forever grateful to the wonderful staff of the St. Claude Pavilion who cared for Julienne since 2014. You were all so kind to her and cared for her like your own family and for that we cannot thank you enough.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making donations to the St. Claude Health Centre, Box 400 St. Claude, MB R0G 1Z0.
