(He who is watched)
February 10, 1960 – May 5, 2022
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Daniel Acoby, age 62, of Winnipeg. Larry passed away on May 5th, 2022, after a hard-fought battle with scleroderma.
Larry was the devoted spouse of Dawn, of 43 years, the loving father of Natasha (Ian), Monica, Rhianna (Jesse) and Deidre (Alex). Proud grandfather of Alexia (Storm), Delson, Jessa, Jr. Lee, Ryanna, Rhiannon, A.J, Dibik Mhi’iin-gun and Mylah. He was ecstatic about the recent news of becoming a great-grandfather. He also leaves behind his sisters Pat and Debbie.
Larry was predeceased by his daughter Roxanne; his parents Ramona Acoby and William Walker; his brothers Ronnie and Edward; his sisters Sharon, Connie, and Valerie.
Our father was a self-taught guitarist and enjoyed “jammin”; he also liked to spend his free time working on cars, spoiling his grandchildren, visiting family, playing sports and was an amazing artist. Larry was the jack of all trades, the neechie Mike Holmes”. Early in life, our father
learned the importance of hard work and spent over two decades at Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council Housing Authority. He taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right.
The family would like to say Meegwech to Swan Lake First Nation, D.O.T.C.H.A, for your assistance during this difficult time. Meegwech to our family and friends for your prayers, loveand support. We appreciate it.
Pops, you are now at peace, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Giga Waabaamin Miinawa.
