Laverne Tait

Peacefully on April 14, 2011 at the Ann Thomas Building (MICU) at the HSC, our beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend passed on into eternal rest with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Laverne leaves to mourn and will forever be remembered by his good friend Bonnie Flett, his sisters Valerie, Sandra, Selma, Gail; brothers Eugene and Glenn (Roselyn), aunties Myrtle and Edith and numerous other family and friends.

Laverne was predeceased by a sister and two brothers, mother Eunice and father Roy, uncles Eddie Catcheway, Clifford Thomas, Walter Cameron, Robert Tait and Aunt Edna Swain as well as maternal and paternal grandparents.

Laverne was born on May 9, 1955 in Swan Lake, Manitoba.  Our brother led a quiet life, enjoyed watching TV, especially sports and Christian programs.  He attended Calvary Temple for many years.  Our brother attended community programs and won awards in Special Olympics and other events. Laverne had a great sense of humour, liked to share jokes with others and his jokes were very therapeutic to others and himself.  Laughter is good medicine.

A Traditional Wake Service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 4:00 pm at the Swan Lake First Nations Community Hall followed by the Funeral Service on Tuesday, April 19 at 2 pm.  Interment at the Indian Springs Burial Grounds.  All are welcome to attend.  Thank you to all who supported our family with condolences, prayers and encouragement.

Adam’s Funeral Home of Notre Dame, Manitoba in care of arrangements.  Phone 248-2201 or 1-888-400-2326.  www.afh.ca
