Léo Alarie
It is great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and our pepère. He passed away after a brief illness on April 30, 2015. Just 2 days short of his 93rd birthday.
Dad was born, raised and lived the majority of his life in Elie, Manitoba. As a returning war vet, Dad was very involved in the community as a member of the school board and Caisse Populaire. Dad loved his job as a diesel mechanic and worked for Chabot Farm Implements for over 50 years.
He is survived by his children, René (Barbara), Roger (Vivian), Real (Susan), Lucille (Brock) and Claude (Colleen); grandchildren, Elaine, Tara, Ryan, Desiree, Christine, Kaitlynn and Carter; and great-grandson Niko. He is also survived by his sisters, Yvonne Dupont and Rita Bernardin; a brother Henry Alarie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Therese and son Marc, as well as many other family members.
Funeral services will be held in the Elie Blessed Sacrament Church on Thursday, May 7, 2015. Prayers and eulogy at 10 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 with Father John Legitimas officiating. Interment will take place immediately after the Mass at the Parish Cemetery.
We would like to thank the caring nurses on the fourth floor at Victoria hospital, and the terrific staff at Foyer Valade.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Dad to Cancer Care Manitoba.
