Leon Desilets

Peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital with family at his side, he went to his eternal home.

Leon was born is Elie and farmed until his retirement in 1976.  In his youth, Leon enjoyed hockey, baseball and curling at a later age.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Army, Navy and AirForce.  He was also a member of the Armed Forces in the last war.

He is survived by four sisters:  Cecile Leavenworth, Gilberte La Marre, Pauline Chabot and Stella Borrie and by many nieces and nephews who will all miss the twinkle in his eyes and his wonderful sense of humour.  He was predeceased by his parents Donat and Pamela Desilets, 2 brothers:  Emile and Marcel and by 2 sisters:  Fleurette Ayotte and Alice Desilets.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church in Elie, Manitoba on Thursday January 30, 2003 at 2 p.m. preceded by Recitation of the Rosary at 1:30 with Father Albert Lafreniere officiating.  Cremation to follow, with interment in the Parish Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Blessed Sacrament Church or to a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
