Louise Rosset (née Bonnefoy)
With family at her side, Louise passed away peacefully on May 15, 2024 at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, Manitoba at the age of 91 years.
Louise was born on August 29, 1932, at her parent’s farm west of St. Claude. She often spoke of a horse she loved named Katy, her little dog "Puce," listening to country music, sometimes yodeling. On October 24, 1953, she married André Rosset and began raising her family. She was a full-time mom, busy with cooking, baking, sewing, and canning the many vegetables and fruits André grew in the large family garden, or preparing jam and jelly from wild fruit we picked in the woods. We will fondly remember her green relish, coffee can pudding at Christmas, and Friday homemade bread and pizzas. Education was important to her, she found time to help all of her children with their homework every evening. She could sometimes be found taking a quick break to relax by playing solitaire at the kitchen table. Later in life, she enjoyed gardening, quilting, taking long walks, and doing a little volunteering in the community with her son Norbert.
Louise was predeceased by her parents Louis and Marguerite Bonnefoy, her husband André, her son Paul and his life partner Jennifer, her son in law Lance and her granddaughter Grace, her brothers, Raymond Bonnefoy and wife Yvette, Ernest Bonnefoy, Jean Bonnefoy, and sister-in-law Lorraine Bonnefoy.
She is survived by her brother Claude and wife Betty. She will be remembered by all her children: Thérèse Rosset, Jean (Gerri) Rosset, René (Micheline) Rosset, Jacqueline (Louis) Vien, Robert (Lilliane) Rosset, Pauline Rosset, Marie Rosset, André (Debe) Rosset, Roland Rosset, Norbert Rosset, Lionel (Jill) Rosset, Susane (Gavin) McDonald and Ginette Caven; her grandchildren: Lise Thiessen (Tom), Silvie Kozak (Dave), Anita Vien-Sim, Denis Vien (Falon), Michel Rosset (Tamara), Jérome Rosset (Éloïse), Colette Rosset, Janelle Bernier (Jacob), Ron Rosset (Kelsey), Lexe Rosset (Jacek), Josée Rosset, Bradyn Rosset (Kirsten), Declan Rosset, Tori Rosset, Joe McDonald, Charlie McDonald and Claire Caven and her great-grandchildren: Alex Thiessen, Gabby Thiessen, Max Thiessen, Evan Sim, Nadia Sim, Blaise Kozak, Michelle Vien, Maurice Vien and Théodore Rosset.
In accordance with her wishes, a graveside service will be held this summer. She will be interred next to her husband André at the St. Claude Cemetery.
The family is very thankful for the outstanding care she received at Villa Youville these last few years. Your patience, care, and understanding were greatly appreciated.
