With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lynne Adam, who went peacefully, holding her family’s hands, on August 17, 2026, at the Notre Dame Foyer at the age of 71 years.
She is survived by her loving husband, George Adam; her children, Rylan (Hannah) Adam, Kelsey Adam, Rachelle (Colin) Matychuk, and Jolene (Curtis) Zeghers; her grandchildren, Ellie and Grayson Adam, Lincoln, Vivian, Lucie, and Scarlet Matychuk, and Leo and George Zeghers. She also leaves to mourn her sisters, Nadine Dobbin (Darren Funk), Janice (Cliff) Sylvester, and Velda (Murray) Perkins; her in-laws, Charlotte (Heinz) Herrmann, Alvin (Monique) Adam, Reg (Barb) Adam, and Lorraine (Pete) Collet, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Lynne was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Pearl Dobbin, and by her parents-in-law, Clement and Mary Adam.
Lynne was born in Treherne and raised on a farm on the north side of the river in Ladysmith District. She completed her schooling in MacGregor. She spent sixteen years working at Nostedt’s Gift Shop in Treherne while living with her grandmother, Ivy Triggs. When she married the love of her life, George, in 1989, she took a few courses and made a career change to bookkeeping for Adam Accounting Service.
Lynne had a love for sports and enjoyed many different activities throughout her life, including golf, curling, baseball, Belgian bowling, and, of course, being a hockey mom. She could often be found cheering on her family and supporting the activities that meant so much to them.
She also found joy in the simple things in life. Lynne loved scrapbooking, gardening, camping, baking, and walking. Most of all, she treasured the days spent with her family, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
Lynne devoted much of her time and energy to various organizations and activities around town. She was always willing to lend a hand and give her time to the community she loved.
Of all the roles she held throughout her life, being a mom and grandma was the one she cherished most. Her family was her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in watching her children and grandchildren grow. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the memories she created, and the special place she held in the hearts of so many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Treherne Community Hall on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at a later date in the Bethel Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed at www.afh.ca.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or to a local sports organization of your choice.
