It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our eldest brother Marcel, at the age of 82, at the St. Claude Pavilion with family at his side.
Left to mourn his passing are his siblings: Gabriel, Cecile (Philippe), Therese (Lucien), Henri (Marie-Anne), Auguste (Frances), Agnes (Ed), Rose-Marie (Bruce) and Louis (Donna); his sisters-in-law Emilie (Charles), Olive (Hubert) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marcel was predeceased by his parents, Jean-Baptiste and Germaine (nee Labossiere), his brothers Charles and Hubert, his sisters-in-law Albina (Charles) and Gertrude (Gabriel).
Born on the homestead in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Marcel attended Montcalm School and Maison Chapelle de St. Boniface. He dedicated his entire life to farming in the Notre Dame area. He was an able mechanic and took pride in keeping his machinery in top working condition. Marcel was a well-known and respected member of the local farming community. He was an active sportsman, enjoying curling, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and attending local hockey games. Marcel loved his family and enjoyed family get-togethers at the homestead. He was generous and always ready to help others.
The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to the doctors, staff and volunteers at the St. Claude Pavilion for the outstanding care and compassion they provided to Marcel during his time as a resident.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 20 at the catholic church in Notre Dame de Lourdes with Father Alain Guenou and Father Armand Le Gal officiating. Interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marcel ’ s memory to the St. Claude Pavilion, Box 400, St. Claude, MB, R0G 1Z0.
