Marilyn was born in Somerset, MB, where she lived and worked on her family farm. After school, she continued to work on her family farm and delivered papers for Winnipeg Free Press. August of 2009, She ventured out to live on her own and worked at Sam Inc in Portage La Prairie. In 2019 she relocated to St. Claude MB into an assisted living home for a short time when health complications left Marilyn unable to use her legs and hands. After back surgery, she moved to Deer Lodge Centre and with the support of family, friends and Deer Lodge staff, she was able to overcome many hardships. Marilyn took pride in everything she did and was widely known for her exceptional baking skills. She enjoyed walking, biking, music, watching curling and holiday get-togethers. Marilyn cared deeply for her friends and family, whom she often called never forgetting a birthday or just to chit-chat. Those regular phone calls were so meaningful to Marilyn in recent days when she often could not have in-person visits. Thank you to Dr. Henry, Andrew and all the nursing staff for taking such good care of Marilyn.
