Peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre, in Winnipeg, MB on Saturday, November 7, 2015, Marion Acoby of Winnipeg, MB passed away at the age of 68 years.
She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Lynn Pierre (Kevin) and Kelly Pierre; four grandchildren, Zandaya, Kierra, Jewel and Dayce; seven sisters, Lorraine, Kathy, Florence, Francis, Charlotte, Yvonne and Yvette; four brothers, Leonard, Leslie, Elwood and Walter; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her son Terry Acoby in 1997; her parents, Okema and Joan Acoby; two brothers, Henry and Wayne; two nieces, Deanna Hobson and Colleen MacDonald; and by one nephew Adrian Acoby.
She was December 15, 1946 at Swan Lake, Manitoba and grew up in Swan Lake and Winnipeg. She gave birth to three beautiful children and helped raise four grandchildren. She enjoyed Pow Wow’s and Sundance’s, as well as traditional cooking, such as making Bannock. Music, jigging, Bingo’s and outings as well as helping out the less fortunate were her favourite pastimes. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
A Traditional Wake will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Hall on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 4 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Hall on Friday, November 13, 2015 commencing with the feast at 12 noon. Interment to follow at the Indian Springs Cemetery.
