Peacefully, on November 15, 2021 at the St. Claude Pavilion, Mary Vuignier of Rathwell, Manitoba passed away at the age of 88 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters: Joan (Fernand) Allec and Diane Vuignier (Shawn Janssens); her four grandchildren: Joanne, Daniel, Hannah and Sarah. She also leaves to mourn her passing, a close friend, Liz Klotz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Marcel Vuignier, her son John Vuignier, her parents John and Mary Deacon, her siblings Bob (Bette) Deacon and Marg (Bob) Paxton, her parents-in-law Antoine and Edith Vuignier, sisters-in-law Florence Vuignier, Antoinette (Paul) Roch and brother-in-law René Vuignier.

Mary grew up travelling and living across Manitoba as a daughter of a CP Rail employee. Mary went to business college and nursing college before settling on a career with CP Rail, replacing station managers around the province when they were on vacation.   She met her husband, Marcel Vuignier, in Rathwell, Manitoba when she was working at the CP Rail station there.  Mary married Marcel Vuignier in 1960, taking on a new of role of wife, mother, and farmer, to which she dedicated the remainder of her life.

A Private Graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at the Notre-Dame Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the St. Claude Health District Foundation, Box 338 St. Claude, MB, R0G 1Z0.
