Sadly on October 16, 2023 Melissa passed away in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 45 years.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Jonas Roxy Cochrane, her children, Kayne Fosseneuve, Tayller Peltier, Emory Ahmo (Liz Castonguay), Melissa Jr. McKinney, Jonas McKinney and Dakota McKinney “small fry”; her grandchildren, Ezra, Aurora and Leia; her sister Michelle (Kevin) Thomas, her brother Dwain R. Walker Jr. and her inseparable sister Naomi McKinney, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Melissa was predeceased by her father Dwain R. Walker Sr and her mother Mildred McKinney.

A Traditional Wake will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Cultural Centre on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 4 p.m.  Funeral Service will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Cultural Centre on Sunday, October 29, 2023 commencing with the feast at 12 noon. Interment to follow at the Indian Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kayne Fosseneuve, Emory Ahmo, Joseph McKinney, Preston Courchene, Lionel Cameron and Matthew McKinney.

Honorary Pallbearers are Tony McKinney, Shaun Pierre and Darren Pierre.

Singers will be the Spirit Sands Singers.
