It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Melissa Woods. She entered into the spirit world on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the Portage la Prairie Hospital at the age of 27 years.

She leaves to mourn her passing her mother Faye McKinney; her step-father Tim Meeches; her sisters, Jessika Woods and Vanessa Woods; her brothers, Cody Roulette, Jason Woods, Cory Woods and Devon Stevenson; her nieces and nephews; Jayce, Jayden, Jaslyn, Kaistin, Logan, Jayanna, Lavaeh, Taya, Shastin and Ocean; her grandmothers, Marina Scott and Linda Daniels; her uncles Kelly Sr (Florence), Dennis (Alvina), Mervin, Glen, Chris, Randy Krauss, Raymond McKettrick (Barbara Woods), Roy (Pam), Darren (Cheryl), Nelson and Eddy; her aunts, Kimberley Delorme, Pat Scott, Lorraine (Harold), Lori, Glenda, Jackie (Roland), Lydia, Leticia, Lucy and Juanita, as well as numerous friends in Vancouver.

She is predeceased by her father Jason Lloyd Woods; her sister Janessa Woods; her grandfathers, Arthur McKinney and Lloyd Woods; her great-grandmothers; her uncles, Greg Scott, Raymond Scott, Kevin Scott; and by her aunts, Sherri Scott and Kathy Cameron.

A Traditional Wake will be held in Swan Lake First Nation Community Hall on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 4 p.m. A Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2023 commencing with the feast at Noon.

Pallbearers will be, Ryan McKinney, Mervin Scott, Glenn McKinney, Adrian Delorme, Mosses Daniels and Bradley Scott. Honorary Pallbearers will be all her family and friends.
