Nathan Anthony Lance Scott
Nathan passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 24, 2025 at the age of 38 years.
Nathan was predeceased by his father Rudy Mainville, his Koko Lillian Rose Scott, his Grandpas Norman Bird and Steven Mainville and his Great Koko Rosie Scott, his aunties Rhonda Sumner, Roxanna Bird, Jeremarie Bishop and his Uncle Curtis Mainville.
Nathan leaves to mourn his mother, Pamela Mainville; his Grandmother Jean Bishop; his brothers, Todd (Jenna) and Robert Edwin; his nephew Derek; his sisters, Selina and Kelly; uncles, Don (Bernice), Steven (Annebelle), Travis (Trudy), Calvin (Fran) and Morris; aunties, Norma, Darlene, Patty, Lorie and Michelle.
Nathan had a special relationship with numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and extended family.
Nathan attended Pilot Mound School and played for the school Hockey team.
Nathan worked for Mountain Industries in Notre Dame, sanding and painting woodwork products. Nathan enjoyed his special time with kids and would often give them a ride in the rear basket of his bike.
When Nathan lived in Brandon, he participated in bowling tournaments with housemates and took swimming lessons. In 2022, Nathan moved from Brandon to Winnipeg. He enjoyed sitting outside, listening to music and working on puzzle books and writing. Nathan was a collector of pens, books and backpacks. He often wore a backpack filled with these items around his neck.
When Nathan lived on the reserve he loved going to BINGO with his Koko and pulling pranks on people. His infectious laugh was often heard resonating throughout the Bingo Hall. He loved asking his Koko Joyce, Kii Buck in awe ga nuh??? Did you win? Then would clap his hands and throw his head back and laugh.
Nathan enjoyed speaking the Anishinaabe language, and his one cree word, “Ekosi” (Thank You).
Nathan enjoyed spending time with family and taking part in powwows. He loved going to movies and outdoor movies in Assiniboine park. Nathan attended a concert of his favourite boy band, Backstreet Boys.
Many will miss Nathan. Community members often asked how he was doing.

Traditional Wake will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., at the Swan Lake First Nation Cultural Centre.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, with a traditional feast beginning at 12:00p.m.
