Norbert Le Floch

April 10, 1949 — January 6, 2026

Norbert Le Floch, passed away peacefully on his own terms at Foyer Notre-Dame on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the age of 76 years.

He is survived by his siblings, Lionel Le Floch and Jeannine Le Floch, his sister-in-law Elaine Le Floch; his nephews, Jean Paul, Raymond (Lizanne) and Patrick and their families, along with his friend Rose.

He was predeceased by his parents Félix and Denise Le Floch and his brother George Le Floch.

Norbert was born, raised and educated in the St. Claude area. In his younger years he raised beef cattle, bred Border Collies and was a bee keeper. Over the years he had many odd jobs, he was a school bus driver for 30 years, he worked for W4 Dairy Equipment as a technician, known for being a “jack of all trades”. In his later years he took pride in his farmyard and enjoyed tinkering and working on various projects.

He loved to travel, especially Mexico. Puerto Vallarta was his happy place, where he felt at home making many special friends. Norbert was an avid reader, keeping up with current affairs, cultivating strong opinions on the state of the world. He was a big fan of CBC Radio. He was passionate about good food and good music, creating memories with family and friends. Known to have been the family historian, keeping many of the past stories alive.

Despite increasing health challenges Norbert kept his independence as long as he could. A self-described “fiercely independent person”, he was able to stay in his home as long he possibly could, with the assistance of his brother Lionel and sister-in-law Elaine. He was so grateful for his many visitors and caregivers.

The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the caregivers, nurses, doctors and staff that cared for Norbert throughout the years. Your exceptional compassionate care was much appreciated.

A private service will take place at a later date.
