She was predeceased by husband Marcel, her grandson Dustin, her parents Henri and Aldea Houde, and her siblings Celine, Roland, Gisele, Monique and Alfred.
Mom loved to travel and was fortunate enough to visit many places throughout Canada and the world. Community was important to her as evidence through her participation in 4H especially in the effort she put forth to create the Elie Gun Club. Having had six children, she involved herself in their varied interests including figure skating, hockey, and BMX racing to name a few. She loved curling and when she could no longer participate, she remained an avid fan. She enjoyed gardening and her yard in St. Norbert was her pride and joy. She was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League in later life. Mom always believed she was not creative and yet her knitting, crocheting and especially her sewing skills proved otherwise leaving us with many precious reminders of how truly gifted she was. Her cooking and baking also inspired her daughter and daughter-in-law who continue to share the love through their cake decorating.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Brightwater Senior Living and Concordia 1N for their dedicated care and compassion.
