Pierre Lesage

It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Pierre Maurice Marie Joseph Le Sage at the Foyer Notre Dame at the age of 98 years.

He is predeceased by his wife Marie-Ange; his parents, Hélène and Pierre Le Sage; siblings, Blanche, Hilaire, Yvonne, Marc, Denise, Marcel and Andre.  Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Robert Le Sage and Sandra (Conrad) Ostrowski; his grandchildren, Richard (Jodie), Daniel (Angelina), Nicholas, Candace, Sasha (Sean), Shayne (Reisha), Devin and great-granddaughter Aleenah; as well as sisters-in-law Marie-Ange and Therese and nieces and nephews.

Pete was born in Notre Dame de Lourdes and lived a long, hard working life.  At a young age, he worked the family farm, then went to work in Ontario and Northern Manitoba.  He also worked many carpentry jobs in Winnipeg and surrounding areas.

Pete met Marie-Ange in Atikokan, Ontario and got married in October 1955. They lived in Winnipeg for a year, then built their house on the farm near Rathwell, where they lived happily till 2007. Afflicted with Alzheimer’s, Pete ultimately moved to Foyer Notre Dame where he received the best care available.

Dad, you were our Rock.  We’ll miss you greatly.  You affected more people positively than you will ever know. And for that, we are eternally grateful.  We love you and will never forget. A huge thank you to all the staff at the foyer, who worked tirelessly and endlessly looking after Pete.  You are the best!

Funeral Services will be held in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, January 5, 2019.  Memorial Service at 1:30 followed by Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. with Father Alain Guenou officiating.  Interment will take place immediately after the funeral service in the Notre Dame Parish Cemetery.
