It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of their brother, Raphael Durand, on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the age of 84 years, at the Notre Dame de Lourdes Hospital.
He was predeceased by his parents, Pierre and Délima; stepmother, Lucienne; sister, Lilianne; brother and sister-in-law, Armand and Pauline; brothers, Roger and Norbert; and brother-in-law, Alfred Gauthier.
Left to mourn are his brothers, Gerry and Elizabeth, Remi, Lucien and Sue; sisters, Suzanne and Alfred LaFlèche, Céline Gauthier, and Henriette and Claude Rey; brother-in-law, Benoit Gaultier; sister-in-laws, Marthe and Thérese; and many nieces and nephews and extended families.
Raphael was born in Notre Dame on December 20, 1928, the eldest child of the family. He worked on the family farm until farming for himself in Oak Lake, retiring in Roland and Somerset.
The family would like to thank the many health providers and special niece Arlette Payette who was involved in his care.
Funeral Services will be held in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Friday, August 2, 2013. Viewing and Prayers at 1:30, Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. with Father Armand Le Gal and Father Jean-Hubert Collet officiating. Burial of the ashes will take place on Monday, August 5, 2013 in the Notre Dame Parish Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.
