Raynald “Ray” Antoine Joseph Kolly
Died peacefully on February 1, 2010 at the age of 58 years. Dear son of Clotilde and the late Raymond Kolly; beloved husband of Katja; loving father of Matthew, Jordan, and his step son Brett. Ray is also survived by his siblings: Guy (Lynda) Winnipeg, Rene (Donna) Notre Dame de Lourdes, Marielle (Reid) Winnipeg Beach and Liliane (Kevin) Swan Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Ray was retired from the Armed Forces Photographic Unit following 20 years of service. During this time he was personal photographer for the Governor General Mme. Jeanne Sauve in Ottawa with whom he had the opportunity to travel to many parts of the world. Most recently Ray was a graphic arts/photographic technician at the OPP general headquarters in Orillia Ont. Ray also ran his own photography business, doing weddings and events on weekends and holidays. Ray always had a love for photography and was often heard to say “ I can’t believe that I get paid to do something I love.” Ray enjoyed his time spent with his family and friends and a good bottle of wine. He will be greatly missed by those who called him friend or co worker.
Friends will be received at the Steckley Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet’s Point Road, Barrie, Ontario on Friday from 7 - 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Cremation.
Donations in memory of Ray may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Gilda’s Club, or to the Royal Victoria Hospital Regional Cancer Care Centre.
