Rene Raymond Mollot

Rene Mollot passed away peacefully at his residence in Starbuck, Manitoba on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the age of 91 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Denise (née Picard), his sons, Raymond (Terri) Mollot and Phillip (Terri) Mollot and his grandchildren, Dylan, Jordan (Teagan), Sam and Beck. He is also survived by his brother Lorne Mollot and his sisters-in-law Louise Mollot and Jeanette Bergeron, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rene was predeceased by his parents Archie and Aline Mollot, his brother Marcel Mollot and sister-in-law Mariette Mollot.

Rene was born on October 1, 1932 in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, but grew up in Starbuck, Manitoba where he remained his entire life. Rene began working at Archie’s Meats at a very young age and eventually took it over from his dad. He married Denise Picard in 1956 and together they had 2 sons, Raymond and Phillip, who later joined him in owning and operating Archie’s.

Rene put 100% into everything he did, whether it was working, curling, golfing, playing, coaching and reffing hockey, hunting or fishing. He was involved in his church and his community from helping build the local rink to slicing turkey at the fowl suppers, and many things in between. Rene always appreciated a good conversation and laughter with his community members and customers.

He deeply loved his family and friends, and he enjoyed every opportunity to get together with both. He will be greatly missed.
