Rheal Joseph Roger Rouire

Rheal Joseph Roger Rouire passed away peacefully at the age of 42 years on September 4, 2007, at the Boundary Trails Health Centre with family by his side.

Rheal was born on February 11, 1965, in St. Claude, Manitoba. He attended school at both Haywood and St. Claude. After graduation, Rheal participated in the apprenticeship program at Red River Community College for four years to become a journeyman carpenter. He married Cathy Leatherdale, the love of his life, on September 25, 1999.

Rheal grew up a country boy known for his kind heart, quiet patience and subtle wit.  He was a compassionate, loving husband, a devoted father and family man, and a true friend.  Rheal became an avid fisherman and hunter and was often seen with his buddy, Marcel.  He also enjoyed camping and playing crib with his family and friends.

In March 2001, Rheal pursued his dream and started his own business, North 40 Construction. He was a very skilled carpenter who took great pride in his work and dedicated his time to pleasing his customers. Special requests were commonly greeted with, “Not a problem!” He had a gift for drafting and constructing anything he set his mind to, whether it be a small delicate piece of furniture or a large elegant home. His success was also due in part to his skilled and reliable crew.

Rheal is survived by his wife, Cathy, two daughters: Melanie and Nicole; his parents, Albert and Jeanne Rouire; his brother, Gerald (Anneke), nieces, Jeannette, Mariah, Mikayla and Julianna; his brother, Rene (Sharon) and niece, Claire; his sister, Denise (Chad) Laing and nephew, Scott; his in-laws, Howard and Ruby Leatherdale; his sister-in-law, Sherry (Scott) Walters, nephews, Colton, Cordell and niece, Camilynne; and his sister-in-law, Judy (Marty) Elliott and nephews, Michael and Matthew; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Gabriel Levesque officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made either to a trust fund for Rheal’s children at the Dufferin Credit Union, Box 130, Carman, MB  R0G 0J0, or to the South Central Cancer Resource, 160 Stephen St, Morden, MB  R6M 1T3.

Adam’s Funeral Home of Notre Dame, Manitoba in care of arrangements.  Phone 248-2201 or 1-888-400-2326.

His charming ways and smiling face

Are a pleasure to recall,

He had a kindly word for each.

And died beloved by all.
