Robert Francois Remillard

Robert passed away peacefully, with Florence at his side, at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the age of 74 years. On November 14, 2013, they had commemorated their 49th wedding anniversary with his family at his bedside.

Robert leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife Florence Remillard (née Berard); three daughters, Patricia Ward (Robert) of Hamilton, ON, Darlene of Phoenix, AZ and Lynda Eliuk (Robert) of Fort Richmond, MB; two grandchildren, Jason Remillard of Calgary, AB and Jed Remillard of Fort Richmond, MB. He also leaves to mourn one sister Gisele (Henri); six brothers, Aime (Anita), Roger (Irene), Herve (Anne Marie), Fernand (Solange), Gilles (Huguette) and Aurele (Stella); and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Ida Remillard.

Despite the diagnosis of 2010, he accepted the course charted for him. Through his ordeal, he never complained. He appreciated very much friends and family who visited him at the hospital. As his body grew weaker, his attention turned from this imperfect world to what God was planning for him. In the final days, the once avid fisherman and hunter had “his gear” in order and was looking forward to the peaceful trail that lay ahead. May he rest in peace.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. with Father Kasonga and L’abbe Thibeault as co-celebrants. Interment at the St. Joseph Parish Cemetery with luncheon to follow at the St. Joseph parish hall.
