Robert Vermiere

Robert, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024 at the Manitou Personal Care Home at the age of 87 years.

Robert was the first child of Edgar and Georgette Vermiere.  He was born on August 21, 1937 while his parents were living in Altamont. The family moved to Bruxelles in 1944, and then to their farm three miles west of Somerset in 1950.

Robert left school at an early age and worked the family farm with his father.  He enjoyed trapping and snowmobiling during the fall and winter. Upon retirement Robert rented out the land and later sold it, but remained living in the family home.  He moved off the farm into the Somerset Manor and then Manitou’s Personal Care Home.

He leaves to mourn his sister Laurette Thevenot; his nephews George (Cherryl), Mike (Cindy) and Bob (Helen), and their families.  He is predeceased by his parents Edgar and Georgette Vermiere and brother-in-law Marcel Thevenot.
