It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roland Daniel Tranq on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at his home.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Jeannine Tranq (née Arbez) and their 2 sons, Marc (Lucille Tinguely) and Denis (Cindy Evans).  His granddaughter Tanya, grandson Joel (Lindsay Miller) and great grandson Bodin.  He is also survived by one sister Suzanne Durand, brothers and sisters-in-law, Mireille (Kevin) Heald, Roger (Huguette Chatel), Léon (Odile Lambert), Georges (Edith Chatel), André Gautron, Thérèse Arbez and Paul (Penny) Hitchman as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his father Philibert in 1976, his mother Clarisse Thorimbert in 2002, brothers-in-law Maurice Durand and Raymond Arbez, sisters-in-law Marie-Paule Gautron, Claudette Hitchman, Baby Maria Arbez and Marie-Reine Arbez.

Roland was born September 23, 1932 in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes.  Roland worked as an auto mechanic and held other various occupations.  He was extremely proud of his family and especially happy to have been able to know his great grandson.  He had a special fondness and respect for horses.  He also enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, fishing, and his cats.

Special thanks to Dr. Omichinski and staff at the Portage Hospital for taking care of Roland during his hospital stays.

Funeral Services will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. with Msgr Roger Bazin officiating.  Interment at a later date.

Flowers are gratefully declined.  Donations may be made in memory of Roland to a charity of your choice.
