After her long battle with cancer and suffering chronic pain from rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis, the family is sad but relieved to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rolande Hébert, at the age of 81 years. Her prayers were finally answered and God came to get her at the time of his choosing.
Mom will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her children René (Colette), Paulette, Carmen, Daniel (Peggy), her son-in-law Jean-Léon Marion, her grandchildren Patrick, Chantal, Christian (Kristen), Roxane (Jamie), Damien (Fitri), Adam, Réjean, Valérie, Julien (Jessey), her great-grandchildren Kadence, Caleb, Ariel, Eric, Jérémy, her two sisters Évélyne Arkle and Léonne McGrath, and her close friend Rosa Clément.
Mom is now on her final journey, free of pain and suffering, and is now reunited with her husband Raoul, her daughter Suzanne, her parents Eugène and Priscille Tessier, her brother Léon, and her two granddaughters Sylvie and Jacqueline.
Her faith in God was her foundation and strength throughout her life. Faced with health challenges, she met them with determination and courage. She took whatever came her way, fought hard and kept going.
The family would like to thank the Home Care workers who enabled mom to stay in her home much longer than would have been possible on her own, as well as to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Nasir and the caring and compassionate staff at St. Pierre Hospital.
In keeping with Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mom’s life will take place at the Paroisse Saint-Pierre Roman Catholic Church on Friday, February 10, 2017. Prayers (rosary and eulogy) will be held at 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral mass at 2:30 PM.
