With her family at her side, Suzanne passed away peacefully on June 22, 2004 at Foyer Valade, leaving to cherish her memory, her children : Juliette Vielfaure (Armand), Guy (Isabelle), Edmonton, AB, Denis (Elsie), Sherwood Park, AB, Annette,  Réal (Natalie) ; daughter-in-law, Lyette Augert, her sisters : Germaine Roy, St. Norbert, Marie Chanel, Somerset, MB ; her brother, Christian Laporte (Lorraine) Pine Falls, MB. 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Germaine Laporte,  her husband, Albert (1997), her son, Marcel (1998), her sisters
: Yvonne Rouire (2004) Haywood, MB., infant sister Odette (1911).

Suzanne was born May 12,1909 in Marolles-les-Braults, (Sarthe), France.  Her family came to Canada in 1911, and traveled to Wauchope, SK, and later settled in Somerset, MB.  The daughter of a baker, Suzanne mastered the art of making bread. From a very young age, Mom learned the value of hard work.  In 1929, she married Albert with whom she shared 68 years of her life.  Mom was a caring, generous person and very involved in her community.  In Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, she worked as an assistant postmaster, organized many fowl suppers, belonged to the Daughters of Isabella and les "Dames de Ste Anne".  She was totally devoted to her family and took great pride in family gatherings.

The family wishes to thank the nursing and support staff at Foyer Valade for the warm compassionate care given to our mother over the last 6 1/2 years. Mom especially enjoyed having her granddaughter, Jan, care for her at the nursing home.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, June 26, 2004 at 2 p.m. preceded by recitation of the Rosary at 1:30 p.m..  Father Alphonse Bongo presiding.   Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foyer Valade Building Fund, 450 River Road, Wpg. MB, R2M 5M4
