Ted was born in Killarney, Manitoba on September 6, 1927. He later moved to Stony Mountain where he farmed, raised his family and was instrumental in creating Stony Mountain Ski Park. Among his many ventures, Ted spent years in a partnership appraising and selling real estate in the Winnipeg area. In 1980, he and Sandra purchased the Bluebird Café in Treherne. During those years he formed many fond memories and cherished friendships. It was there that he was told stories of the Pioneer Trail called “the Yellow Quill Trail”, from these stories, Ted investigated and documented his findings, these findings were later passed in legislation in 2006; and later published into book form in 2008 with the help of Gordon Fedack. During his retirement years himself and Sandra spent winters in Mesa, Arizona making many more cherished friendships.
