On Monday, September 12, 2011, Vincent Aimé passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving wife Gertrude (née Préfontaine-Bougard) at the age of 78.
Also left to mourn his passing is his only son Luc (Terry Lynn) and his four daughters, Jacqueline (Roland) Rasmussen, Charlotte (Rodney) McDonald, Yolande (Paul) Franzmann and Francine (Steven) Gould. Pépère will sadly be missed by his grandchildren, Matthew and Meghan Rasmussen, Sydney and Cameron Franzmann, Nathan and Rylan Gould.
Surviving Vincent are his siblings Hélène, Lilliane, Irene, Rita, René (Pat), Lorraine and Dick (Claire). He was predeceased by his parents Almir and Bertha, his brothers Alfred, Léo, Louis, Jules and his sisters Gertrude, Denise, Beatrice, Clara and Florence.
Vincent was born and raised in Fannystelle, MB where he proudly farmed with his wife and children. He loved every minute he spent on his farm until his retirement in 1996. Mom and Dad then moved to a new life in Winnipeg, where he enjoyed his grandchildren and made many new friends.
Playing cards was a passion of Pépères. He never said no to a game of cribbage, barouche and everything in between. Beating Pépère at his own game was a "feather in your cap."
Camping, curling, watching baseball games, and dining out with friends and family were some of Dad's favourite pastimes. His most favourite pastime though, was being with his grandchildren during their sporting events, music recitals, school concerts, or just relaxing with them while talking football and politics. All this made his life complete, he treasured every moment. No one could put a smile on his face like his kids and grandkids.
We'd like to express our gratitude to the Manitoba Renal Program, the Home Care Program, and the Palliative Care Program. You all helped to make Dad's journey smooth and peaceful.

Funeral Mass will be held in the Paroisse Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens, 289 Dussault Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. Viewing at 10 a.m. with L’abbé Richard L’Archer officiating. Interment will take place at the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery in Fannystelle, Manitoba on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 1:30 p.m.
We adore and will miss you Vincent, Dad, Pépère.
Rest well, and we hope the card games in heaven
are as good as the ones were on Earth.
