Bill (William) Turnbull

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Bill (William) Turnbull at St. Boniface Hospital on August 12th, 2021.

Bill is survived by son Dallas Turnbull, daughter Meaghan (Christopher) and grandchildren Mylo and Makai Erbus; his brother, Harold (Suzie) Turnbull, sister Alice Delf and sister-in-law Marie Turnbull, He will be forever loved and greatly missed by them and his extended family of nieces, cousins and lifelong friends.

He is predeceased by his parents Harry and Laurel Turnbull, his brothers Stan, Wes, Gordon and Robert; his sister Dorothy (Jim) Mawby and brother-in-law Hughie Delf.

Bill was born in Rathwell Mb on August 25th, 1945, where he grew up on his family farm. Bill later found roots in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he pursued college and a career in cooking and hospitality. He worked in the hospitality industry for over 30 years where he met many of his lifelong friends. Bill later moved back to Treherne Mb to open his own restaurant, the Boyne Valley, finally retiring in Winnipeg.

Bill had a great sense of humor and was full of energy. He enjoyed spending time with the people he loved especially his grandsons.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held on August 31st at Woodlands Cemetery (Treherne, Manitoba) at 1:00pm; followed by a reception at Rathwell Hall.
