It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mom, grandma, grams, mena and friend. Brenda Jean Shoemaker was born September 22, 1954 in Virden, Manitoba and died on June 14, 2023 at Boundary Trails Health Centre at the age of 68 years.

Left to mourn her passing are her husband Bob Fiddler, her daughters, Jackie (Donovan), Trina (Stephen) and Julie; her grandkids Jordan, Dairien and Talia, along with siblings,

Darryl, Kevin (Cindy), Valerie (Vic) and Monica (Ken); and in-laws Donna, Judy and Pat, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Brenda was predeceased by her parents Fred and Effie Shoemaker (nee Birchall), her parents-in-law Alfred and Nora Fiddler, her brothers Mark and Jim and her sister-in-law Rhonda.

Throughout the years, Brenda made a lot of friends and acquaintances, especially from her time spent at the Somerset Food Bar and Somerset Hotel.  If she wasn’t at work you could find her at the cabin at Pelican Lake, camping with Rolly and Suzie, murder mystery dinner theatre with the gang, at bingo, or playing darts.

The family would like to thank all the healthcare staff at HSC, BTHC, Lorne Memorial Hospital and CancerCare for all the care and compassion that they gave to Brenda during and after her diagnosis.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Somerset Community Hall on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. The service will be available to view via Live Streaming.
