Peacefully at the Swan Lake Hospital on Wednesday, January 26, 2011, Mrs. Cécile Picton of Somerset, Manitoba passed away at the age of 78 years.

She leaves to mourn her loving husband Michel;  eight children:  Doris Fay of Winnipeg, Fern (Kathleen) of Winnipeg, Jackie (Dennis) Major of Glenora, Andrea (Robert) Van Damme of Bruxelles, Leonie (Ken) Cabernel of Bruxelles, Norbert (Lucette) of St. Claude, Lorraine Picton (Marcel) of Winnipeg and Richard (Lianne) of Winnipeg; one daughter-in-law Joanne Picton of Winnipeg; 25 grandchildren:  Micheline, Rachelle (Gerald), Normand (Jeannette), Gilbert, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Jeremy, Andrew, Joanna, Jason (Sheri), Tracy (Grant), Bryson, Curtis, Ashley, James (Angie), Michel, Nicholas, Nicole, Dylan, Logan, Taryn, Cody, Kieren and Mason; nine great-grandchildren:  Hailey, Caitlin, Jessica, Makayla, Peyton, Luka, Gavin, Nathan and Kaleena. 

She also leaves to mourn four sisters:  Simone Piche, Rita (Maurice) Painchaud, Denise (Norbert) Le Floch and Ida (Dave) Heindricks; Michel’s family, his three brothers:  Edmond, Robert, Elie (Hélène); three sisters:  Pauline, Louise (Denis) Rosset, and Hélène Drobko; one sister-in-law Muriel Picton; and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by one son Alain Picton in 2000, one daughter Lucille at infancy and by one son-in-law Gerald Fay.

Prayers will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Haywood Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 2 p.m. followed by Interment in the Parish Cemetery with Father Gabriel Levesque officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Swan Lake Palliative Care, Box 40, Swan Lake, MB  R0G 2S0.
