Obituary

Colin Charles Labossiere

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Colin Labossiere on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Boundary Trails Hospital with his wife by his side.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Labossiere (nee McInnis), his son Dillon Colin Labossiere, his father-in-law James McInnis and his siblings, Jocelyne, Ivan (Cheryl), Geraldine (Robert Mabon), Elaine (John Hardman), Andre (Dena), Danielle (James Scheffelmaier) and as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and countless cousins and friends.

He is predeceased by his father Gabriel and his mother Cecile (Rondeau), brother in law Allan Sayak, his sister in law Gail Thiessen, and his mother and stepfather-in-law Pearl and Max George.

Colin Charles Maxime Joseph Labossiere was born September 19, 1953 in Manitou, Manitoba. He went to school among many family members in Saint Leon, where he made lifelong friends.

He met the love of his life, Sherry Anne McInnis, on June 2, 1996 and they were married December 4, 1999. Colin was a lover of vehicles, to the point where if asked if he knew or owned a type of car he would probably be able to say "yes", and kept a keen interest in fishing and in hockey. So he could either be found working on a vehicle in his workshop or watching the Winnipeg Jets or the Fishing network. Colin cared deeply about his family, and worked to ensure that they would be happy, teaching his son many life lessons, and helping to ensure his growth into an intelligent, caring and charismatic young man. Colin was a truck driver, and in 44 years he had crossed the Continent many times (on both sides of the border). He drove along the ice roads, in the oil fields, in the prairies and beyond.

A private funeral service will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at 2 p.m. with Heather Grobb officiating.  The funeral service will be webcast for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Palliative Care at the Boundary Trails Health Centre or to CancerCare Manitoba.
