Born February 24, 1923 in Solar, Norway.  She made the journey to Canada in 1926 at the age of 3.  Her family settled into the Shaunavon, Saskatchewan area where she then graduated high school.  She met her late husband Stanley in Regina, the two were married on January 12, 1945.  They lived in Somme, Saskatchewan for 10 years on their farm then moved to Lynn Lake, Manitoba where they raised their 6 kids.  She spent 40 years as an insurance agent which she loved so much and her customers grew to be lifelong friends.  In that time, she was involved in many different activities and clubs.  She was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, devoted member to the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  Curling was her passion, she competed in numerous bonspiels   and championships throughout the years.  She was a devoted fan right up until her passing, and never missed a game.  In 1998 Dagny and Stan retired and moved to Treherne, Manitoba.  In her elder years Dagny enjoyed picking berries, playing bingo, working in her yard, and she always looked forward to the visits from family and friends who she loved dearly.  She lived a long, active, thriving life which she claimed stems from her strong “viking roots”.  She was always so proud to be Norwegian.

A private family service will be held at a later date in Saskatchewan.
