Obituary

Dale Dilworth

Peacefully at his residence, on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, surrounded by his family, Dale Dilworth passed away at the age of 64 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 40 years, Cathy (née Anderson); his daughters, Candace (Jeff Rheault), Jody (Scott Opperman) and Brooke; his grandchildren, Tessa, Dylan, Maddy and Brynn. He also leaves to mourn his mother Beth Dilworth; his siblings Brad Dilworth, Elaine Dilworth, Joanne (Mitch) Hawryluk; his mother-in-law Evelyn Anderson; in-laws, Judy (Jim) Harrison and Greg (Tracy) Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is predeceased by his father Raymond Dilworth and his father-in-law Don Anderson.

Dale was born April 15, 1956 in Treherne, Manitoba.  He was the eldest of four children, born to Ray and Beth Dilworth.  He farmed his entire life.  At a young age, Dale and Brad started setting up machinery.  This was over the span of several years in Rathwell, at Metcalfe’s in Treherne and on the family farm.  Along with farming, he enjoyed working for Treherne Concrete for several years.  A few winters were also spent working at Delaquis Arctic Cat Dealership in St. Claude.  Dale married Cathy Anderson on August 23, 1980.  They later welcomed three girls, Candace, Jody and Brooke.  Family was especially important to Dale and in later years, his grandchildren were his entire world.

In earlier years, Dale enjoyed hunting.  Snowmobiling was also a passion from a young age, which in later years led him to a director position of Club Snow.  Rolling Range Riders and Club Snow combined in order to keep trails maintained from Spruce Woods to Treherne.  Quadding on the same trails that he snowmobiled was a big part of his life.  Scuttlebutt Lodge was a social gathering place that many people have fond memories of.

With the help of family and friends, he was part of the harvest of 2020.

Our father was not just a Dad, he was a great friend to people who loved him like family.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date, with burial at Woodlands Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Tiger Hills Community Foundation (Rathwell Fund) or to a local charity of choice.
