It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David Bangartt on May 22, 2023 in Albany Georgia, at the age of 74 years.

On May 22, 2023, the world lost a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and son. Dave grew up in Transcona and spent many years in semi-professional drag racing.  He met the love if his life, Gretchen, in the early 70s and they were married in 1979. By this time Dave was a full-time truck driver, and this was his calling, he loved the open road. He passed in his truck in Albany, Georgia, as we all knew it would be, just much too soon.

He was predeceased by his mother Agnes (née Blaikie) and father Henry, his wife Gretchen (Peutert), his mother-in-law Ida Peutert and brother-in-law Kenneth.

Dave is mourned by his daughter Reena (Will) Thiessen; his granddaughters Rayvin and Moira Spearman and Jessie (Rick) and Kylie Thiessen and his great-granddaughter Nikki. Many people are feeling his loss deeply as he was easy to make friends.

We would like to thank Poteat-Wakefield Funeral Directors of Albany, Georgia and the Coroners Office for their kindness in this difficult situation. The family would like to thank the community of Roseisle for their care and compassion.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Roseisle EMC Church on Saturday June 17, 2023 at 1 p.m. All Semis and Hot Rods are encouraged to join in Dave’s last ride to his place of rest.

Memorial donations can be made to Diabetes Canada or the Children’s Hospital.
