Peacefully at the Rock Lake Personal Care Home, in Pilot Mound, Manitoba, Mrs. Elsie Cameron of Swan Lake First Nation left to the Spirit World on September 27, 2023 at the age of 90 years.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Cameron (Donna Meeches), Tommy Joe Cameron (Arnetta Iron Shirt-Cameron), Joyce Stevenson, Rita Cameron, Betty Ann Soldier, Ruth Cameron, Claudia Cameron (Rudy), Morgan Cameron-Somerville and Doreen Ducharme (Corbett), as well as her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn one sister-in-law Grace Esquash and her daughter/friend Barb Hobson.
Elsie was predeceased by her husband Richard, by her children, Ricky, Bob, Floyd, Norman and Karen, her sons-in-law, Harvey Stevenson, Donnie Stevenson, Larry Soldier, Wally Gale, Peter McGregor and Joe McKinney, her daughters-in-law, Carol Smith and Viola McKay, her sisters and brother, Rose (Johnny), Mary (Sam), Minnie, Evelyn, Dorothy and Simon, by her granddaughter Tracey Stevenson and her grandson lil’ Donnie Stevenson-Cameron.
A Traditional Wake will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Cultural Centre on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. A Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 at the Cultural Centre, with the feast commencing at 12 p.m.
Pallbearers will be, Jason Soldier, Danny Cameron, Ricky Cameron, Patrick Smith, Tyler Soldier and Kalen Goodchild.
The family would like to thank the Personal Care Home for the care they gave their mom for the past 14 years. A special thank you to Lauralee, Stacey, Jordan and rest of the staff.
