Fernand Grenier

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Fern Grenier, on May 12, 2023 at the age of 62 years.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 35 years, Agnès (née Labossière); his sons, Adrien (Brittany), Victor, Georges and Louis; his grandchildren, Kenzley, Zander and Everleigh. He also leaves to mourn, his siblings and in-laws, Robert (Irma) Grenier, Viola (Denis) Caillier, Paul Aminot, Hubert (Monique) Grenier, Terri (Adrien) Caillier, Luc (Lucille) Labossière, Francine Labossière (Danny Benson), Natalie Labossière (Ben Nind), Stella Labossière and Colette Labossière (Gérald Deroche); his mother-in-law Marie Labossière, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Fern was predeceased by his parents Victor and Florida Grenier; his father-in-law Olier Labossière; his sister Clémence Aminot and his niece Claudette Grenier.

Fern was born on July 5, 1960, to Victor and Florida Grenier. He grew up in a helpful generous loving family. As the youngest of the family, he always said they had hit perfection, so no more kids. At the age of 12, his cousin asked him to paint the inside of his big dairy barn. He accepted the challenge. It took him a summer for this job. His cousin was so pleased with his work that he gave him a lot more money, than he asked for.  So excited he bought himself a ten-speed bike with all the bells and whistles and put some money away.

He was a man of many trades including, painting, catering, construction, and beekeeping. In 1986 he found something sweeter than his bees, Agnes, and they were married on June 6, 1987. Then, the kids came along. He worked hard but found time to take the family on camping and fishing trips, which made many memories.

Through the years many obstacles, tragedies and accidents happened. By faith and positive thinking, we moved on. Visiting, card games, pranks, story telling, jokes and the casino, became new passions. Through these activities many reconnections and new friendships were made.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Altamont Community Centre at 2 p.m. with Father Levesque officiating. Interment to follow in the Altamont Community Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made to the Altamont Community Centre or a charity of your choice.

Years ago the family suffered a tragic house fire and lost all their pictures.  If you have any pictures, etc please send.
