Georges Desrochers passed away peacefully at the Heritage Life Personal Care Home in Niverville, Manitoba on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the age of 76 years.

He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 51 years, Annette (née Dupasquier); four children, Edward Desrochers (Natalie), Jacqueline Desrochers (Sven), Elizabeth Desrochers and Catherine Desrochers (Devin); five grandchildren, Jazlyn (Aubrey), Alexandria (Kurt), Zachary (Sara), Noah and Emmalia (Nate); five great-grandchildren, Bella, Blake, Brielle, Bennett and Kylah; his brothers and sisters, André (Diane) Desrochers, Normand (Irène) Desrochers, Della Leclair, Angelle (Tim) Rosner, Paulette (Marcel) Marion, Jeannette (Claude) Marcotte and Michel (Wendy) Desrochers; his in-laws, Isabelle Desrochers, Kimberly Desrochers, Lilianne Pilotte, Lorraine Dupasquier, Delorés Dupasquier and Simone Dupasquier.

He was predeceased by his parents, Dominique Desrochers and Laurence (née Labossière); three brothers, Florent Desrochers, Pierre Desrochers and Rhéal Desrochers; his parents-in-law, Joachin Dupasquier and Yvonne (née Mary); four brothers-in-law, Paul Leclair, Fernand Dupasquier, Hubert Dupasquier, Louis Dupasquier and Robert Pilotte; and sadly, by one grandson Donald Desrochers (Angel Wings).

Georges was born on December 18, 1947 in La Rivière, MB.  He grew up for most of his life in Somerset MB, where he enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters, playing hockey and pool. He was often found working hard with his father to help support the family. As a young adult, he worked as a Miner and then met his soon to be wife Annette, got married and they moved to Brandon together. He soon started working with his brother in their own mechanic shop. Starting a family meant lots of new adventures like having children, moving to Winnipeg and a new career as a truck driver for Trimac.

After a few more moves, he and Annette found their forever home on a gravel road in the peaceful country near Ille Des Chenes. Georges and Annette took a simple house on 10 acres and made it their home by planting trees with family's support, planting a garden and flowers and  building a deck where so many of the family get togethers would occur. Georges and family often could be found camping, fishing or canoeing across the country. As time went by and grandkids and great grandkids were added to the family Georges could be found giving them tractor rides and sharing his gardening tips and inviting them  along for  camping trips.

As a car enthusiast, he was always up for an impromptu tune up, and checking the tire pressure. He always reminded his children and grandchildren to check the oil! Georges loved to spend time with nature and his family and often took long rides on his motorcycle.

Georges had fond memories of his retirement, where he enjoyed trips to Arizona with Annette. He was an avid and precise card player, often spending entire evenings with family playing various card games while music played in the background. He was well known for making and tending to giant vegetable gardens, keeping his yard neat and orderly.

Georges was loved for his zest for life and his infectious boisterous nature.
